«Chushka byurek» — Peppers stuffed with white cheese

Popular Bulgarian dishes. Bulgarian pepper baked in the oven, then stuffed with cheese and fried in breadcrumbs. If you have a very salty cheese, it can be mixed with cream cheese to the filling is turned too salty.


— 800 g of pepper (preferably red and spiky)
— 200 g of white cheese
— 3 eggs
— breadcrumbs
— Vegetable oil for frying


1. Peppers put in a form or on a baking sheet.
2. Place in a preheated 220C — 230C oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, so as not burnt.
Pepper does not have to be fully baked, because then it will be too soft and will fall apart.
3. Roasted peppers immediately put in a plastic bag and close.
4. White cheese mash with a spoon.
5. Add 1 egg, mix well.
6. Cooled peppers cleaned of skin. If difficult to remove, it can be part of skins to leave, much to the taste of the finished dish is not affected.
7. Cut off the very top of each pepper, cleaned seeds — get a cup.
8. Stuff the peppers with white cheese, but not much and not tight.
9. Roll in beaten eggs. Then in breadcrumbs.
10. In a frying pan heat the vegetable oil. Put the peppers and fry until golden. Turn on the second side, and also fry.
