Barley porridge with meat, mushrooms and vegetables

Ingredients:

Pearl barley — 1.5 cups
Beef — 400 g
Mushrooms — 200 g
Green peas — 100 g
Bulb — 1 pc.
Carrots — 1 pc.
Salt, pepper, spices — to taste
Vegetable oil — for frying

Preparation:

1. Meat cut into portions and fry until golden brown in vegetable oil. Season with salt and pepper, add spices to taste. Add water and simmer until cooked (I have it took 40 minutes).

2. Rinse mushrooms, cut into 4 pieces and add to the meat. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

3. Carrots cut into strips, onion cut into cubes. Add the vegetables to the meat and mushrooms, simmer for 10 minutes under the lid closed.

3. When the vegetables are tender add the peas (pre unfreeze it) and cook for no more than 2 minutes.

4. Pearl barley wash and soak in plenty of water overnight. In the morning drain the water, rinse again with barley and cook until tender in salted water. When the barley is ready, drain the water and wrap the pot with a blanket, then it will all be revealed and it will be very soft and beautiful.

5. To add the pearl barley vegetables and mushrooms. Gently stir and hold the fire for 1-2 minutes and serve.
